Swimathon 2015

19th April 2015

It's the time to organise this year’s CoLSSC & Leeds Mermaids Club entry to this years Swimathon.

This event usually raises a good amount of money for both Clubs, so please encourage your child to take part.

This year the Club needs a new music system.  After repeated repair, the faithful Coomber is ‘on its last legs’ and so we’d like to raise funds so we can purchase a new system.

Hopefully all Club members will participate.  You can â€˜rope in’ your friends and relatives to swim too!

Swimmers can  do either 1K, 2.5K or 5K.

Last year some of our newest and youngest members achieved 1K in around 1/2 an hour!  Just imagine what they'll be able to achieve this year!!

The event is being scheduled for the morning of Sunday 19th April at JCCS, time to be confirmed. To register,  please email Richard with the swimmers name and the distance to be swum.

The deadline for entries is Sunday 15th March.

Look forward hearing from you all

Leeds Mermaids join GB Synchro Team

October 2014

We are very proud to announce that two of our Mermaids both auditioned to join Great Britain Synchronised Swimming Team and were both successful.

Whilst still also representing CoLSS, these two girls are now spending most weekends away from home, training in Aldershot.

Becky said "our goal is to be selected for the Team at the Junior Europeans in 2015 " with Greta adding "we now also train every Saturday  in Aldershot at the High Performance Centre!".

Rebecca and Greta are trying to source company sponsorship to assist with the travel costs involved in travelling to Aldershot each week, and if anyone knows of any company sponsorship initiatives please can they contact them.

Good luck ladies :)
