About us
We are a teaching club for Sychronised Swimming in Leeds, West Yorkshire. We are also part of the City of Leeds Synchro training program and feed into the City of Leeds Synchronised Swimming Club along with six other clubs in the counties of Yorkshire, Northumberland and Durham which make up the North East Region of the ASA.
The club also runs classes for any one wanting to do the ASA National Plan for Teaching Swimming, (NPTS), Aquafun awards, these are run an a term basis, mirroring the school terms. These classes are currently run at several pools in the Leeds Metropolian area
Why do we love Synchronised Swimming?
Synchro is often described as a 400m sprint , holding your breath, dancing through the water and looking graceful while you do it!
Our sport builds many life skills - team spirit; spatial awareness; creativity; independence; musicality as well as increasing confidence, commitment, flexibility, strength, power, stamina and any other physical attribute you can think of!
Synchronised swimming demands advanced water skills and requires great strength, endurance, flexibility, grace, artistry and precise timing, as well as exceptional breath control when upside down underwater.
And there are numerous benefits of participating in synchronised swimming which include:
