City of Leeds SSC & Fundraising

How you can help

The City of Leeds SSC is a not-for-profit sports club that functions only with the commitment and support of its dedicated volunteers.  Synchronised Swimming is a sport which can be enjoyed at any age, from 6 to 60+, girls & boys alike.  The City of Leeds works with its feeder clubs Leeds Mermaids & Pudsey Pearls - within the Leeds Synchronised Swimming Scheme.  This collaboration creates a synchronised swimming programme that is participant led, whilst enabling everyone to reach their full potential in the sport.

The sport brings communities together, from across the North East, to volunteer and to compete side by side.  It keeps young people, (in particular female, but by no means exclusively), regularly participating in sport and enjoying aquatic

activity.

In order to grow  further as a club and a sport we must continue to fundraise towards essential equipment, competition costs and the day-to-day costs of running a rapidly expanding club.  The City of Leeds competes regularly at a National level, achieving regular podium places since its commencement in 2008, and features in regional newspapers 'The Evening Post', 'The Pudsey Times' and national magazine 'The Swimming Times'.  The club recently featured in a spot on 'The One Show' BBC 1 and will took part in 'Synchronised' an Olympiad event at Ponds Forge in June 2012.

If you, or your company would like to sponsor the club in any way, please contact Head Coach Sarah Speers on sarah.speers@leeds.gov.uk
